My practice is rooted in drawing and is my way of making sense of my surroundings, relationships and everyday encounters. When I draw it has less to do with accuracy than with emotional integrity and a trust in the on-going process of mark-making.  I work from photos, memory, and observation, moving intuitively between figuration and abstraction.

Normally I have several works in progress at any one time – these are often compiled and spliced from different situations I have recorded in my notebooks. An important aspect of my process relies on the rawness and immediacy of my notebook recordings informing larger works that may incorporate variety of mediums: acrylic, watercolour, mixed media, and pen and ink.
